This week, Karen & I are beginning a Starting Point group at our church with another couple, Paul & Sara. We are excited about being a part of this group designed for people who are seeking to know more about Christ, new to faith in Christ or returning to church to explore their faith. Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community. The material is from North Point Church in Atlanta where a friend of ours, Norton Herbst, leads their Starting Point program. Karen & I listed to the CDs for the program over the summer and loved them. We are excited to see what God will do in the group and excited to go through the material again ourselves.
We decided to take the first year of our marriage off from leading anything or any heavy involvement in church / community activities. We are glad to have had the extra time to spend together, but now are excited to start this group and serve God in this way. We feel privledged to do it.
