We traveled all day on the 4th, driving to Seattle from Montana and then flew from Seattle to North Carolina to be with Scott's family. We were grateful to be able to change our plans quickly. Originally we planned to come out to NC on Wednesday (July 12th), but we're SO glad we came early.
The last week or so has been difficult and a blessing. We have had some good times with Scott's mom, Lila, last week but the in the last few days her condition has deteriorated significantly. It is a privilege to be here and to try to serve her and Scott's Dad (Leo) in any way that we can. Please pray that we would continue to both have energy, wisdom and an attitude that is helpful, encouraging and uplifting.
There has been a steady stream of friends and family that come through the house each day. Lila is in a hospital bed in the living room and greets everyone with grace, dignity and hospitality. Her perspectives on her illness and life are inspiring.
We're planning on being here as long as is necessary and so I'm not sure if we'll continue our trip, but that doesn't feel like much of a priority now.
